Those who gain this qualification will be able to demonstrate an advanced level of driving and expert use of vehicle controls, as well as an advanced level of coaching and instruction under routine and emergency response conditions. Drivers will demonstrate best practice and adhere to all current legislation.

This qualification is for Trainee Driving Instructors who intend to instruct and assess learners on behalf of an NHS Ambulance Service or CQC Registered Independent Ambulance Service contracted to the NHS. Instructors who achieve the L4 Diploma in Ambulance Driving Instruction (RQF) will be able to deliver the L3 CERAD training course.

 This qualification is designed for road systems subject to UK legislation and covers the comprehension of roles and responsibilities for emergency response ambulance driving Instructors and Assessors, understanding driving legislation, conducting vehicle inspections, adhering to driving procedures, utilising vehicle systems effectively, managing human factors, delivering effective feedback, understanding factors influencing driver behaviour, coping strategies for stress, the impact of alertness and fatigue, creating a safe learning environment, and delivering instruction and assessment effectively.
