Through theory and practical sessions, the L3 CERAD qualification gives learners the knowledge and skills to drive an ambulance routinely and respond to incidents in a range of environments under emergency and non-emergency conditions.
This qualification is for people who are employed by, or contracted to, an NHS Trust or CQC Registered Ambulance Service (Independent or Voluntary Aid Society) with the required authorisation to undergo training in emergency response ambulance driving.
This qualification covers driving legislation, driver responsibilities, pre-driving checks and daily inspections, the system of car control, driving under routine and emergency response conditions, manoeuvring and reversing, safety systems, emergency response driving practices, navigation, adverse conditions, and human factors.
The EMSTAR CERAD programme is delivered in just three weeks, Monday to Friday.
